An older horse owner, living alone and local to Rosemary Farm, has passed away, leaving behind a small herd without care. Upon arriving to handle affairs, the family members were alarmed to discover five minis and one horse they had no knowledge of or plans for, and were even more alarmed at their living quarters and condition. As happens in our county, with no SPCA, they were directed to reach out to us for help. We knew the location, having observed for years with concern, so we drove over right away.

In short, we met a kind woman, a family member who shared the history of a long and stressful situation, an environment that culminated with this herd left in dire need, so we immediately made plans to bring the group to Rosemary Farm. We know our #RFnation supporters will wholeheartedly approve of this Holiday Miracle choice, and help us welcome them with love.

There are five minis, four of them mares, one a gelding, all sweet and eager for attention, for food and care. Two were born at this home 15 years ago, the other three are older. After years without attention, all need hoof care and medical evaluation, but they are curious and really so sweet. We have great hopes for their recovered health and happiness. The horse is a senior paint mare, gentle and eager to connect. In rougher shape, she may have old navicular issues (a hoof issue), which we will evaluate, and share more as we know it.

Welcoming six equines at once is a challenge, but need presents itself as it chooses, and this is why we are here, to help equines in need. If you believe in our efforts and can help us as we take on this special holiday save, we are very grateful.

Thank you for your support in making these horses' Christmas Wish for safety, love and care come true.

The herd was left behind in a small field. The family got hay for them, and called us.
