If you are reading this,

you have hopefully read the Facebook post we shared about a local camp and a very concerning and dire situation.

Rosemary Farm was aware and attempting to help behind the scenes. Please read the post for story and photos so you are caught up. (You can find the original post HERE)

NOW, the neglected camp horses were returned to the dealer who owns them, and we expected these six horses to be at the auction last Saturday. However, they did not show. But we have an amazing development! The dealer, unhappy with being blamed and with the extreme neglect of his horses, is happy to sell all six to our group.

Behind the scenes we have several private concerned citizens who may be able to offer a home, and we are working with another rescue, Equine Rescue Resource, to create the best possible outcomes for these horses. We have arranged a neutral location for drop off, initial evaluation and quarantine.

We now just need to raise the first $6,000 to buy their freedom.

Why does this matter? Won't they just do it again? They may. But this has gone on long enough, maybe a lot of attention to this will finally force change.

Camp ponies are sometimes valued and cared for as they should be, but this facility has shown over and over a lack of responsibility or care. At least for this six horses, let's stop it.
