It's a Barn Raising at Rosemary Farm!

Earlier this fall we shared the exciting news of the purchase of an adjacent 112 acres, that now belongs to the sanctuary and is ready for expansion. We are now taking the first step -- building a barn!

In thinking about how to use the newly acquired land, we recognize that we have a growing population of senior and special needs equines, beloved members of our rescue family that require expanded care facilities. The new barn will refuge for 4-8 equines, who need the extra TLC, with easy road access for vets and care (we are in the country on a mountain!). Using our own special design, this new barn will have oversized stalls that may be shared by friends, small paddocks for easy turnout days, and gated access to the large lower fields with the main herds.

The barn is being bid on by several companies to get us the best pricing, and will be pre-built and then assembled here, as we work at the farm to prep the site. We estimate the barn will cost $42k for the basic design; and if we are flooded with support, we could consider adding a sleeping loft above, which would be a very special place for visitors to spend time!

Yes, we are dreamers here, but look what we have built together! Rosemary Farm Sanctuary has access to a combined 250+ acres, and is a long term safe haven for almost 100 horses here in New York State. Where else in the region may someone view a herd of 50+ horses running freely on a mountainside? Watch horses in mock fights, playing with joy? Or pet a blind horse that is happy and content? We are proud of our collective efforts to create something lasting and meaningful!

Dedicated Giving Options

• $25 ~ Buy a board for the barn! Bit by bit we build this barn and every board is needed to raise it.
• $50 ~ Dedicate a stone paver! Add the name of a favorite RF equine (or your own) to a brick paver in the walkway to the barn.
• $300 ~ Dedicate a bench! Your name on a plaque, on a back of a bench at the new barn.
• $2,500 ~ Dedicate a stall (Limit 5)! Dedicate one to your family or a Rosemary Farm horse that holds special meaning in your heart. >> UPDATE: 3 Dedicated - 2 Remaining!
• $30,000 ~ Name the whole barn (Limit 1)! Leave your mark at Rosemary Farm by naming the barn (eg., The Smith Barn at Rosemary Farm or Milo's Stable at Rosemary Farm).
